Preparation · Property projectsPrepare the ground for the next stage.
Earthmoving involves excavating, moving and shaping ground to suit the intended work. MJF welcomes projects from property owners, builders and landscapers who need a site prepared or a property improvement underway. Explain the finished result you need and any requirements from the next trade, rather than trying to specify every machine movement.
Site clean-up and turf preparation.
Site preparation begins with understanding the existing conditions and what needs to happen next. Share plans, levels and access details where available, along with any material that needs moving. For turf preparation, describe the area and the requirements for the next stage. Turf supply, installation and other related work should be identified separately when the scope is discussed.
Rural driveways and property access.
Rural driveway work can involve preparing and shaping the ground for access through a property. Include photos of the current route, approximate length, entry points and any areas that concern you. Explain how the driveway will be used and whether your enquiry includes material supply or transport, so these items can be addressed in the quote.
New dams and firebreaks.
MJF accepts enquiries for new dams and firebreak work as part of its rural earthmoving services. The proposed location, access and intended result are useful starting points. Bring any available plans and property-specific requirements into the discussion. Work is scoped around the site; a photograph alone does not establish the design or any approvals needed.
Retaining walls, sea walls and water diversion.
These are also job types you can discuss with MJF. Explain whether the enquiry concerns excavation and preparation, material movement or a wider construction scope. Plans, specialist input and applicable requirements may be needed before the work can be priced or scheduled. The earthmoving role and responsibilities for other stages should be clear in the agreed scope.
What shapes the price and timing?
Access, ground conditions, levels, material volumes, equipment, transport and the next trade’s requirements influence the work involved. Photos and a description help the initial conversation; some projects need a site visit or more detail. Include your suburb and preferred timing so availability and travel can be considered alongside the scope.
